Guides for this projector
How to calculate projector throw distance
Throw distance = image width Γ throw ratio. First convert the screen diagonal to width (for 16:9, width = diagonal Γ 0.872), then multiply by the projector's throw ratio. For a 100-inch screen (87 inches wide) and a 1.5 throw ratio: 87 Γ 1.5 = 131 inches, about 11 feet.
GuidesHow many lumens do I need?
Lumens needed scale with screen area and ambient light. As a rule of thumb, a 100-inch screen needs about 600 lumens in a fully dark room, around 1,300 for a living room with some light, and 2,700+ for a bright room. Bigger screens and more light need proportionally more.
GuidesTrue 4K vs pixel-shift 4K
Native 4K projectors put 8.3 million real pixels on screen; pixel-shift (XPR) projectors flash a 1080p or 2.7K chip 2-4 times per frame to approximate 4K. Native is slightly sharper on fine detail but costs much more; pixel-shift looks 4K to most eyes at normal viewing distance and covers nearly all affordable "4K" projectors.
