Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-25
ThrowCalc is an informational website with no user accounts and no sign-up forms. This policy explains the limited data we process and your rights under the GDPR.
Who we are (data controller)
The data controller for ThrowCalc is Rafał Bajda, Przeworska 9b/62, 04-382 Warszawa, Poland. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact [email protected].
What we collect
We do not ask you to register or submit personal data. The throw-distance calculator runs entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent to us.
We process only: (a) standard server/CDN logs (IP address, user agent, requested page) needed to deliver and secure the site, and (b) data set by the cookies described below, after your consent.
Cookies & consent
We do not load analytics or advertising cookies until you accept them via our cookie banner. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" in the footer. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from. Google may set cookies and process technical data as a processor/joint controller. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Advertising (Google AdSense)
With your consent, we display ads via Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to ThrowCalc and other websites, and may serve personalized ads where permitted.
You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings (adssettings.google.com) and via www.aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.eu. How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Affiliate links (Amazon Associates)
Some outbound links are Amazon affiliate links. When you click one, Amazon may set its own cookies on its domain to attribute a possible purchase; this happens on Amazon, under Amazon’s privacy policy, not on ThrowCalc. We earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
Third parties
We rely on: Cloudflare (hosting/CDN and security — processes request data as part of delivery, legitimate interest), Google (Analytics & AdSense — consent), and Amazon (affiliate attribution on click). We share only the minimum data necessary and set no other third-party trackers.
International data transfers
Some of our processors — Google, Cloudflare and Amazon — are based in or transfer data to the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, these transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (to which Google and Cloudflare self-certify) and/or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses as the legal safeguard. You can request more detail at [email protected].
Children
ThrowCalc is a general-audience website and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Retention
Server/CDN logs are kept only as long as needed for security and diagnostics and then deleted or anonymized. Analytics/ads retention is governed by Google’s settings. Your consent choice is stored in a cookie for up to 12 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any right, email [email protected]; we respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority — either your own local authority in the EU/EEA or, for us, UODO — Urząd Ochrony Danych Osobowych (Poland).
Changes & contact
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. Questions? Contact [email protected].
