Projector vs TV
Projector vs TV compared — screen size, brightness, cost, lifespan and best use. A clear table to decide which suits your room.
Guide
A projector wins on sheer size and cost-per-inch — 100 to 200 inches for the price of a much smaller TV — but needs controlled light or an ALR screen. A TV wins on brightness, convenience and lifespan. For movie nights on a big screen, choose a projector; for all-day bright-room viewing, choose a TV.
The real trade-off is size versus brightness. Projectors make a far bigger image cheaply but their light spreads thin, so they shine in a dark or dimmed room (or with an ALR/CLR screen). TVs are self-lit and stay punchy in any light, but big sizes get very expensive. Many people use both.
